A. Let Winter Excite You! Q. I've sent my cheque and duly completed, signed application form, but I haven't received anything yet. What do I do?
A. Unless you've submitted your application form and cheque along with a return, self-addressed, stamped envelope, we are holding your membership card for pick-up at our bi-weekly General Socials. If you can not make it out, and forgot to include your return envelope, we will mail your membership card to you along with the Who's Who Directory in December-January.
Q. How can I become more involved with the Club?
A. Volunteer, volunteer and more volunteering. NTSC is a non-profit organization run by volunteers and without them, we would not be so successful. It's a great way to get to know other members and feel a bit more comfortable when you get to know all the new faces in the club. Email volunteers@northtorontoskiclub.com
Q. I want to take up cross-country skiing. What do I wear?
A. Cross country skiing is a great winter workout and skiers warm up fast so it is important not to overdress for the trails. It is best to wear layers: a light, breathable top that will wick away moisture, a fleecy layer for warmth and a thin water resistant shell On mild days the fleecy layer may not be necessary. To keep your feet dry and warm, use polypropylene socks. (Cotton socks absorb moisture to your feel will feel cold and damp.) Add a hat and gloves and you're ready to go!
Q. How do I get the weekly email updates?
A. You can get on the weekly distribution list by emailing us at info@northtorontoskiclub.com and let us know you'd like to be included. It's that simple. The weekly distribution list is managed and maintained by the webmaster (in this case the webmistress!). This information is identical to the information line updates and Weekly Updates on the website on the Monday of each week.
Q. What is the "Who's Who" directory and when will I receive it?
A. "Who's Who" is our membership directory listing everything from the Club's Constitution, By-Laws, Membership directory with member information as per your application form and a first name directory when you just can't remember his/her last name! It usually comes out either late December or early January.
