Frequently Asked Questions
Charter Trips
Q. What is a charter trip and where/how do I sign up?
A. Charter trips are usually either a weekend trip or week long trip to out-of-province locations. They can range from 3 - 7 days and are a great way to meet other members. The Charter Trips are geared to all levels of skiers/boarders from Beginners to Advanced. You can sign up at any of our general socials or print off an application from our website and mail it in after the designated sign up date. Remember applications in person on the designated sale date take precedence over mail-ins.
Q. I'm just a beginner skier or snowboarder, can I go on a charter?
A. Yes, all hills have designated beginner, intermediate and advanced runs. Because our own instructors do not teach at out-of-province resorts, some members sign up for lessons at the resort. On Weeklong Charter Trips your Trip Leader will do their best to organize a free guided mountain tour on the first day.
Q. When I book for a charter weekend trip or week-long trip, do I have to find a roommate?
A. No. We'll match you up with a same-sex roommate(s). Most trips are based on double occupancy with a bed per person. We try to get you the best roommate possible!
Q. The trip I wanted to go on is full, what should I do?
A. The options you have here are: 1. Find a second choice trip to sign up, or 2. Contact the Trip Leader from your first choice and get on the "Waiting List".
Q. Can I snowboard on all charter trips?
A. Yes. Almost all ski areas welcome snowboarders, however, some in the US don't. Come out to our "Charters Reveal" General Social to learn more details about the trips and terrain.
Q. How can I pay for my trip?
A. Weekend Trips are payable by cheque only to North Toronto Ski Club. Weeklong Trips are payable to the Tour Operator. They will also accept credit cards for a processing fee.
Q. What should I bring?
A.
